There are moments when glimpses of light cut through the waves blinding me with joy and turning me in laughter. Moments where shoals of sublte promises tickle my imagination. In between those moments I rest qietly on the bottom of the ocean where life is still and sound is no more than an echo of distance. I watch water pass over me, I reach for bubbles escaping, splintering when grasped. Sometimes I lift off the ground, pushed by a current eagerly moulding new patterns in the sand. I close my eyes to break the surface and familiar pain embraces me, pulling me gently back down onto the bottom. Here I lie, among forgotten pieces of gold and jewelry buried in sediments of days gone by. My ship never reached the shore and from the wreckage I sank, the chains severed to heavy to bear, to precious to surrender. I rest, idle, in the bosom of a story lost.
